Micro habits
Small habits, one day at a time.
It’s the consistency of small habits that tends to shape how we feel. These are habits I come back to myself. They help me slow down, settle and find a gentler rhythm.

Daily practices
- Eat with presence. Give your meal your full attention. Slowing down is a pleasant way to notice hunger, taste and fullness.
- Drink water before meals. Many people find it a simple way to stay hydrated through the day.
- Write down one thing that made you smile. Noticing small moments of joy can lift your mood and help you appreciate the day.
- Relax your jaw. Many of us hold tension here without realising it. Softening it can make your face and neck feel easier.
- Pause from your screen. Even a one-minute break gives your eyes and your attention a rest.
- Walk when you can. Walking is good for body and head. Try walking backwards where it’s safe, for a playful change of perspective.
- Hum for one minute. Humming while you walk, cook or sit in traffic is a simple way to slow your breathing. Can you hold the tone for more than 30 seconds?
- Take the stairs. Small, steady movement adds up, and rhythm feels good.
- Finish one small thing you’ve been avoiding. Completing even a small task builds a quiet sense of capability.
- Plan one small joy. Looking forward to something gentle can lighten the week.
- Share a hug. Warm, caring contact helps us feel safe and connected.
Start with one or two and notice what happens. Small habits often spill over into other parts of your day.
